Assistant Rentals & Event Coordinator

The Webb Deane Stevens Museum is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Assistant Rentals & Events Coordinator. As the Assistant Rentals & Events Coordinator you will play a crucial role in assisting with the execution of various museum events, including fundraisers, lectures, weddings, and other celebrations. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, or someone wanting to explore the world of events.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the coordination and execution of museum events.
  • Assist with event set-up, including arranging displays, decorations, and signage.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure all event requirements are met.
  • Assist with on-site event logistics, including greeting and directing attendees.
  • Support the Director of Events by providing general assistance and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Independently direct/manage weekend/evening events as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in event planning and coordination is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to walk up/downstairs and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge and interest in history and cultural heritage is a plus.
